Stockshift – Terms of Service

Welcome to Stockshift, a mobile application developed to connect farmers, agents, and truckies for the purpose of livestock freight bookings across Australia. By using the Stockshift app (“App”), you agree to the following Terms of Service (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Stockshift app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this app. By registering, you confirm that you meet the age requirement and have the authority to enter into these Terms.

3. Roles and Responsibilities

Stockshift provides a digital platform for:

  • Farmers and agents to find, request, or collaborate on freight transport.
  • Truckies and trucking companies to list available trucks and respond to transport needs.
  • Receivers to be notified of incoming freight (where applicable).

Stockshift is not a transport provider, freight broker, or agent. All transport agreements are made directly between users.

4. Booking and Payment

Users can:

  • Search for trucks or post “Transport Wanted” requests.
  • Submit and respond to booking proposals.
  • Choose to pay via the in-app payment system or arrange offline payment.

All booking, cancellation, and refund processes are subject to each user’s stated policies and platform-defined rules.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Each truckie/trucking company may define their cancellation terms during proposal submission. Farmers and agents are encouraged to review these terms before accepting a booking. Stockshift is not liable for refunds and will not mediate disputes unless legally required.

6. Group Bookings

Stockshift allows for group bookings, where multiple farmers may share truck capacity:

  • A group leader manages the post and final booking decisions.
  • All members vote on proposals.
  • Leaving a group may remove the user’s vote and participation in the proposal.

7. Disclaimers

  • Stockshift does not verify the identity, licenses, or capabilities of users.
  • Stockshift is not liable for:
  • Misrepresentation by users.
  • Booking cancellations by any party.
  • Losses, damages, or delays arising from transport arrangements.
  • Users agree to independently assess and verify any transport provider or freight offer before accepting.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for illegal, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
  • Impersonate others or provide false information.
  • Post or transmit content that is offensive, defamatory, or violates another’s rights.
  • Circumvent or attempt to reverse-engineer the app’s systems.

Stockshift reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9. Content and Licensing

Users retain rights to content they upload but grant Stockshift a limited license to use, display, and distribute such content solely for operating the service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stockshift is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

11. Modification and Termination

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes implies acceptance. We also reserve the right to discontinue the app or any feature at any time.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes shall be resolved under Australian jurisdiction.
